Nothing beats Mother Nature providing the goods at competition time.

Dewey Beach, Delaware, USA served 3 solid days of off-shore winds, 2-3 foot waves, and good vibes - the perfect conditions for a legendary 2023 Zap World Championships of Skimboarding.

Taking place from the 11th to the 13th of August, the event attracted 30 professional male riders and 8 professional female riders from across the East Coast, Brazil, Mexico, and California.

Presented by Alley Oop Skim and Skim USA, the competition is the largest and most prestigious of its kind and we’re stoked to have been a sponsor. With 41 years to its name, it’s the second longest-running skimboarding event in the world.

The weekend was a non-stop, action-packed exhibit of impressive and inspirational skimboarding talent. The incredible conditions created the perfect showground for an explosive and dynamic final. LOTS of spray, late wave hits, multiple barrels, and a backside 360 re-entry air provide just a taster of the energy and skills on display.
